Worship this Sunday, August 23rd at 8:45 am will feature scripture from John 6:56-69 read by Rita Klaus sharing the teaching of what it means to partake of Jesus’ as the bread of heaven and the disciples’ dismay saying, “This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?” Rev. Cheryl Meachen’s sermon, titled, Hard Truths, will explore the choice of some disciples to leave while the twelve remained because, in Peter’s words, Jesus had “the words of eternal life.” The Children’s Time, titled, To Whom Shall We Go? based on the same gospel will teach about facing difficult decisions. Worship this Sunday, August 16th at 8:45 am will feature scripture from John 6:51-58 read by Valerie Snow sharing Jesus’ description of himself as the bread of heaven. Rev. Cheryl Meachen’s sermon, titled, Bread of Life, will explore the lasting gift of Jesus provision for eternal life. The Children’s Time, titled, Soli Deo Gloria, will teach about Bach’s habit of signing each work “for the glory of God” in a message based on Ephesians 5:19-20.
